Today is Star Trek Day.  Star Trek premiered on September 5, 1966.  Gene Rodenberry, its creator, said: “Star Trek was an attempt to say humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins not just to tolerate, but take a special delight in differences,” An optimistic hope for the future of our world. Live long and prosper, everyone.

FRI-YAY: For those of you new to the school, we like to celebrate students who are going out of their way to be kind, respectful and safe with each other and staff, and who go the extra mile to help and be positive community members.  We appreciate everyone who tries to do and be their best everyday – we see you!  Throughout each week, staff may notice something you have done that stands out and give you a “Fri-Yay” form.  Bring that to the office, put it in the pile with the correct grade, and each week we draw one name from each grade to recognize and get a prize.

This week’s students are:

Grade 6:

Grade 7:

Grade 8:

Come on down to the office for your prize!

And everyone else – keep on being your awesome selves.  We appreciate it!
