January 27

From Division 1: If you noticed the flower garden board on display in the library, it was created for Holocaust Remembrance Day. January 25 was a day to remember a time in history when kindness was greatly needed, and to remind ourselves to choose kindness, peace, and care for one another.

Do you want to brighten someone’s day? You can! If you bring in items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, band aids, warm socks, and granola bars, someone’s day will get a little better. Leadership is collecting items for our Survival Socks. We will be stuffing warm socks with toiletry items and delivering the socks to people in need. Don’t worry if you don’t know what to bring, there’s a list in all the classrooms of items that are needed most to build the survival socks. We will be collecting donations until Monday at lunch. Thank you for helping us help our community!

We will be meeting today at lunch recess in the red pod hallway to play lahal and practice the lahal drum songs. The district Lahal tournament is coming up in February, so this is a great chance to practice or learn how to play. Everyone is welcome—come join us! If you would like to participate in the tournament, please come to practice today.`
