January 13

Today is LOHRI!

Lohri is a midwinter folk and harvest festival celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs that marks the passing of the winter solstice and the end of winter. It is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun’s journey to the Northern Hemisphere. It commonly falls on 13th January every year.

The Culture Club has organized for Mehreen Bhalla to dance for the school during SILENT READING TODAY in the GYM. .

Leadership Club and Interactivity Board Game Cafe are hosting a family game night this Friday, January 16, at 5:30-7:30 in the Colquitz gym. Admission is free. There will be a CASH ONLY concession where you and your family may purchase pizza, chips, candy and drinks. See you there!

Tomorrow is Jersey Day!  Remember to wear your favourite jersey or team shirt!

REMINDER: Yearbook club meeting is cancelled today as Ms. Schuring and Ms. Bender have a staff meeting.

IF YOUR TEACHER GIVES PERMISSION FOR YOUR CLASS TO ATTEND (Check with them first!!!) please go DIRECTLY TO THE GYM after lunch recess Today.

Do you want to brighten someone’s day? You can! If you bring in items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, band aids, granola bars or bus tickets, someone’s day will get a little better. Leadership is collecting items for our Surivival Socks initiative. We will be stuffing warm socks with toiletry and other small items and delivering the socks to people in need. Don’t worry if you don’t know what to bring, there’s a list in all the classrooms of items that are needed most to build the survival socks. We will be collecting donations until Friday January 30th. Thank you for helping us help our community!
