January 12

Tomorrow is the celebration of Lohri!

Lohri is a midwinter folk and harvest festival celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs that marks the passing of the winter solstice and the end of winter. It is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun’s journey to the Northern Hemisphere. It commonly falls on 13th January every year.

The Culture Club has organized for Mehreen Bhalla to dance for the school during SILENT READING on Tuesday, January 13th in the GYM.  It was very popular when she danced for Diwali in the foyer, so we thought the larger space would be a good idea.

IF YOUR TEACHER GIVES PERMISSION FOR YOUR CLASS TO ATTEND (Check with them first!!!) please go DIRECTLY TO THE GYM after lunch recess on Tuesday (tomorrow).

JERSEY DAY is this Wednesday!  Wear your favourite jersey or sports shirt.

Leadership meeting in the library at 12:00.  Please arrive promptly at 12:00 so we can present our $1000 cheque to the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island and finish preparing for the boardgame night.

Leadership Club and Interactivity Board Game Cafe are hosting a family game night this Friday, January 16, at 5:30-7:30 in the Colquitz gym. Admission is free. There will be a CASH ONLY concession where you and your family may purchase pizza, chips, candy and drinks. See you there!

Yearbook club meeting is cancelled tomorrow as Ms. Schuring and Ms. Bender have a staff meeting.
