Congratulations to the Grade 6 badminton team on their excellent play yesterday at SMUS at the city badminton tournament. The teams of Chloe Rivers and Joely O’keefe are Victoria’s girls doubles consolation champions. Micah Richey and Inderpreet Soni are the boys doubles consolation champions. Both teams lost their first games but went on to be undefeated in subsequent matches.
Today is the Grade 7 city badminton tournament. All grade seven players are asked to come to a brief meeting at morning nutrition break to confirm rides. Players will be dismissed at 1:30 today to attend the tournament. Grade 7 teachers, please see the email that was sent Friday for those students attending the tournament today.
Rugby rugby rugby- Important meeting today at lunch 12:00 at the front doors for 6/7’s team. Practice tomorrow and Thursday at lunch. 6/7s play today at Royal Oak. You will be getting your jerseys. You need to get your own ride to Royal Oak.
There were not many girls at volleyball this morning. Reminder that this is open to all grade 6 and 7 girls as extra skill building for next year. See Mrs C in room 129 if you have any questions.
Today’s track and field is running with Ms Albach and Ms Harvie. Meet at the Colquitz sign by 12:05.
Our first track meet is next Thursday. See the sign up sheets on the athletic board. If you are entering long jump or highjump there is a standard that you have to meet first. Make sure you go to practice and get measured.
Staff and students can continue to show their support for raising awareness and money to go towards kids and families battling cancer by signing up for the 1k and 5 k run/walk this Sunday.
Thanks to all the staff and students who worked so hard to raise money in pod challenges. We will give the grand total raised this year at the end of the week and which pod was the biggest fundraiser as soon as all of the money has been given to the office.
