April is Sikh Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Sikh community. Let’s take this opportunity to learn more about Sikh traditions and values and appreciate the diversity that makes our school community so vibrant. See the display in the front foyer and your teachers will be sharing more information with you in class.
Did you know that the word ‘Sikh’ in Punjabi literally translates to ‘disciple’? What other questions or curiosities do you have about Sikhism? Now’s your time to find out!

A reminder to all students on the Colquitz Book Battle Team to return your permission slips to Ms. O’Connor in the library.
-Colquitz is teaming with The Kids Run once again this year. For 12 years, Colquitz has supported this amazing event and fundraiser held on May 4th this year. All money raised goes to helping children on Vancouver Island who are battling cancer. Each pod as well as our office, exploratory and Learning support teams are embarking on a challenge to see who can raise the most money. Green Pod handedly won last year with their amazing bake sale. Show your support by purchasing goods sold at school, by registering for the 1k or 5k walk or run, or by volunteering at the event in our kids fun zone. There is word out there that there may also be a school to school challenge for most race participants. For more information, see Mrs. Crljenkovic. Information will be on our school website soon.
-Blue Pod will be selling candy bags next Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Candy bags will cost $2 each. All proceeds will go towards supporting families with children with cancer. Make sure to bring your money next week and help support this great.
