March 31

Today is International Transgender day of visibility – a day to celebrate transgender people in our community and around the world

Transgender or Trans means anyone who does not fully identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. This can be male-to-female, female-to-male, or something in between, such as nonbinary or genderqueer. Recent data shows that over 1% of the population identifies as trans- that’s about as common as having red hair!

Today, Transgender people continue to face discrimination and violence around the world, but they also continue to push scientific innovations, create art, and shape their communities. Please take a moment today to reflect on how you can show your support for Transgender people here at Colquitz ]
