June is National Indigenous History Month! 🎉
(Yes, it’s a whole month — and it’s awesome.)
This is a time to celebrate the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples of Canada — not just their ancient traditions, but also who they are right now: artists, athletes, scientists, activists, influencers, and entrepreneurs who are shaking things up and making waves 🌊.
🎤 So what’s the deal?
Indigenous Peoples have lived on this land for thousands of years, and they have rich, diverse cultures, languages, and histories. But it’s not just about the past — Indigenous people are still here, still proud, and still thriving, despite centuries of colonization, residential schools, and discrimination.
And here’s where the resilience part kicks in: Indigenous communities are leading powerful movements for justice, land protection, cultural revival, and creative expression. They’re not just surviving — they’re thriving.
