SPORTS:
Would you like to have your name engraved on a giant school trophy? Do you like shooting hoops? Mr. Arnott and Mr. Brown are teaming up to bring Colquitz a new intramural basketball shooting game called “2-Ball”. It works like this: You and a partner team up to alternate shots from various spots on the basketball court to score as many points as you can in 60 seconds. Highest score wins. We will be holding an information session in the gym after lunch eating time tomorrow to go over the rules, get you signed up and let you practice. Competition will begin next week at lunch. Everyone is welcome to compete.
-Good luck to our x-country runners who are competing after school today at Lambrick Park. If you are catching a ride with staff, meet in the lobby right after the bell, dressed and ready to run!
If you were not here yesterday and did not get a jersey, see Mrs C at NB.
Soccer – mandatory meeting with Mr. Henderson just outside the gym during nutrition break – we will sort out jerseys and arrangements for our tournament on Monday. Also, we will have practice after school today on the field.
-Boys basketball 8 Comp team who were contacted by Jesse have a practice after school until 4:30 today.
-Mountain bike club riders: the deadline for returning your permission forms is Friday, that’s tomorrow. If you don’t hand in your forms or have your bike checked, you cannot ride next week. We have a skills test today after school for all of our new riders. Meet outside of the Art Room at the end of the day with your bike. See Mr. Leblond if you have any questions.
-Congratulations to the Colquitz ultimate players on their excellent play yesterday against St Joseph’s and Centre Mountain. Both teams showed great sportsmanship and excellent team play – our senior team had three wins and our junior team won two of their three games. Way to go Colquitz! Our next practice is Friday at lunch. Meet in the art room before heading out to the field.
