Canspell Spelling Bee
After a wintery snow day, Colquitz students gathered to listen to some of our finest spellers battle it out. In as school wide assembly top students from each pod were required to spell words from the Canspell spelling guide. Congratulations to our top two spellers who will write a written requirement test on Friday February 27th and then move on to regional finals at UVIC on February 25th. Excellent spelling! Colquitz Improv Teams
Our two junior Improv teams competed for the very first time at the Canadian Improv Games at Esquimalt High school on Wednesday, Jan. 11th. One of our teams placed 3rd for their night, 7th in their division and 10th overall in all of Vancouver Island! Congratulations Improvisers, maybe one day we'll see you on Who's Line is it Anyway?

Teachers vs. Students Basketball Game
To bring an end to our basketball season we held a Teachers vs. Students lunch hour battle for the ball. The fierce teacher team beat the tenacious student
48-10. Better luck next time students! Stay tuned for the volleyball match results at the end of the next season.
Flash Mob
Thursday November 3rd Colquitz students and staff were surprised by a flash mob song and dance by our school choir. The day started as usual and at 8:25 in the front foyer students burst into song and dace to the tune of Katy Parry's "Firework".
The Mob helped kick off our United Way campaign. "The lyrics have stuff about the inner spark and finding it and helping other people to find it, and I think that is what the United Way does allot of the time" said Emily a grade 8 student who was part of the mob. A huge thanks to Ms.McKenzie for organizing this exciting event and bringing it to Colquitz!
Welcome to the Colquitz Middle School web page. We are excited to showcase the wonderful happenings and opportunities that exist here for our students and to give you the chance to get to know us a little better. We are very proud of our school community. To learn more about Colquitz please give us a call. We can organize visits or tours. Don’t miss the link to our PAC Web page!
